Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 1, 2026
forecast.travel (“we,” “us,” “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information, in accordance with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and applicable international standards.
1. Information we collect
When you use the Traveler Fit assessment, we collect: age range, gender, current location, place of upbringing, travel experience level, and your answers to the personalised quiz questions. When you use the Trip Planner, we additionally collect: destination preferences, travel dates, passport/nationality (for visa information only), budget range, and any special needs you disclose.
We do not collect payment information directly on personal assessments at this time. If and when paid features are introduced, payment processing will be handled by a third-party processor and we will update this policy accordingly.
2. How we use your information
Your information is used solely to: generate your personalised traveler archetype, calculate destination fit scores, and build trip plans. We do not use your data to train AI models beyond the immediate session unless you explicitly opt in to a future research programme, and we do not sell your data to any third party.
3. Data sharing
We do not share, sell, or rent your personal information to airlines, hotels, tour operators, advertisers, or any third party for marketing purposes. We may share anonymised, aggregated data (e.g. “62% of Slow Absorbers preferred April travel”) for research or product improvement purposes — this data cannot be traced back to you individually.
4. Data storage and security
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. We retain assessment data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the service. You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 6).
5. Third-party services
We use third-party services for core functionality, including AI processing (Anthropic), location autocomplete (OpenStreetMap Nominatim), and weather data (Open-Meteo). These providers process data only as necessary to deliver the service and are bound by their own privacy commitments.
6. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act and applicable law, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion of your data, and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us at contact@forecast.travel.
7. Children’s privacy
This service is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified on this page with an updated “last updated” date.
9. Contact
